Review: Ludacris - Theater of the Mind
So. I initially had high hopes for this project, thinking since this could very well be his last Def Jam album. Luda is the kind of emcee that literally KILLS every feature he gets on. But his albums always leave a sour taste in my mouth, with the exception of Word of Mouf. So let's get down to bizness...
This album starts off on a weak note (The first 6 songs all sound like filler for mixtapes!). He turns up the intensity with "Everybody Hates Chris" and Chris Rock goes in on the "light-skinned rapper". The album ends at a monumental high however with the stellar tracks "I Do It For Hip-Hop" and "Do The Right Thing" featuring Common and Spike Lee (produced by 9th Wonder).
Overall, I have to give this album a 6. Which is pretty low in my gradebook. He lost alotta points for cosigning Plies and Rawse!.

Music: Elijah X The Foreign Exchange - Leave'n Some Behind EP
I'm a lil' late posting this joint but I have to put it up on the site. My man Elijah of EENJ has put together a dope mix of his favorite cuts off Leave It All Behind, the latest project from The Foreign Exchange. This four track EP is definitely a good look for any fan of The Foreign Exchange and dope lyrics. Also, check Elijah out @ EENJ's WTF Blog. Tell 'em Sleaze sent you!
Oh yea, I did the cover art too! Holla!

Review: Kanye West - 808's & Heartbreak
My prethoughts of this album were "It cant be good." I swore up and down that Kanye was losing his mind. I was utterrly right which signifies that I'm a genius. I listened to the advance copy and was like "Damn. Where are you Yeezy?" I have deleted it. I will not be purchasing it. It isn't even the autotune. It isn't the incessant rambling of incoherent phrases disguised as "emotional torment." It isn't lacking in creativity or substance. I just personally don't care for it. Call it what you will, but I expected much better in a release from the "Louis Vuitton Don".
Word to the wise - If you can permit the allowance of squandered talent then buy this.

Video: T.I. Takes The Stand
Damn T.I. just damn. Thin line between snitching and protecting your interests. And I say this because he wasn't singing before he got caught with the guns.

I was feeling Elijah's post over at EENJ's spot that I had to post this vid! Luda is that dude!

The Ocarina of Rhyme
hey folks. It's Sleaze dropping more jewels. More gems. Here to introduce my next project.
As the title suggests, it will be dedicated to the best game ever created; Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. As if it is possible, I really identify with the green guy. You know, being that he isn't real. But that game came out in a time where things weren't so great in my home, so it was an excellent form of escapism. Nothing like slicing up imaginary villains instead of ice-picking the parents...anywho.
All that said, the most fascinating aspect of the game was the extraordinary score attached to it. the music was bananas! I remember being more interested in the damn tracks than beating the effing thing. Needless to say, I beat the thing(albeit, a few years later on a new console to boot), but the music never left my mind.
Cut to 2008 - I started playing the game again and the old memories hit me like a mack truck. I know I had to use these songs to tell my own story. The same way they helped tell the story of Link.
So that's the initial breakdown. I'll have more info for you as the story develops...
PEACE TWO SCOOTERS!
UPDATE!!!
The mixtape is done and doing well on the d'ls. I hope everyone enjoys it and if you need a copy, click here. Ketchup, plz.
